Fighter Vinnie Lopez Scores TKO
Fighter Vinnie Lopez
On Saturday,February 11th, Vinnie Lopez headlined the Rocky Mountain Bad BoyzMMA event, Cold Wars. Vinnie Lopez fights at 185 pounds and trains out ofGrudge Training Center with Head Coach Trevor Wittman. Vinnie also trains JiuJitsu at Grudge Training Center and The Gym with Coach Josh Ford, wrestles with coach Leister Bowling, and does his strengthand conditioning work with Coach Eric Telly at Steadman Hawkins DTC. Hisopponent was Rufino Soltero. The fight started with both fighters exchangingpunches and kicks in an aim to capture an opening for a more powerful attack. That task was accomplished by Vinnie when he landed a brutal head kick, knocking Soltero on his back. From there, it was a dominating ground and poundperformance by Lopez as he controlled the pace of the fight by denying Solterothe chance to get back to his feet. While on the ground, Lopez landed powerfulshots to Soltero’s head and body and finished the fight with a TKO at 3:37 inthe first round from strikes. This makes Vinnie 2-0 in his last two fights. Hisprevious fight (December 9, 2011 vs. Ryan Peake) was also a 1stround victory from ground and pound.
